2023 SD Republic, 2024 Makers Elite Rise at OGP Halloween Classic Anaheim, CA – Basketball season in Southern California never really ends and therefore it is always hard to tell when teams are in full season mode; however, the OGP Halloween Classic usually is the best indicator of how teams will look during the “traditional” basketball season. The impressive championship performances by 2023 SD Republic and 2024 Makers Elite vaulted each team into the Top 12 of the G365 rankings. 2023 SD Republic rose into the Top 12 by making it past an impressive field that included Top 25 ranked Team D’Termined Select and California Bearcats. SD Republic’s Jurian Dixon earned MVP honors. Makers Elite put together a 2024 team that if can stay together, will make a run at the #1 G365 ranking. The team roster includes MVP Vyctorius Miller, David Mack, Mister Burnside, David Turner, Kash Holguin, and Reef Venstrom. The 12U division gave us an opportunity to see two of the up and coming teams in SGV Blue and Pro Skills White in the championship game. The back and forth game ended with 12U MVP Jaden Erami’s NBA 3-point game winning shot in the final seconds to give SGV Blue the Open division Championship. Both teams earned G365 Top 25 spots with their impressive performances over the weekend. YouBall took home the 11U division and earned a G365 Top ranking. G365 Top 10 Team Loyalty 10U, G365 Top 5, Team Vegas Black 9U, and G365 #1 Hoop is Life 8U took home championships for the younger divisions.
